Getting started
What do I need?+
iPhone on iOS 17 or later. The Apple Watch app needs watchOS 26 or later and runs alongside the iPhone app.
What does the app show?+
Scheduled economic releases for the current week, in chronological order, with a live countdown to each. Use the day strip at the top to move through the week, and the impact filter to narrow to High, Medium or Low.
Why are Forecast and Previous blank on some events?+
Because the source did not publish them for that release. iChart leaves them blank rather than guessing.
Alerts
How do I set one?+
Tap the bell on any event. You will be reminded at two lead times, which you can change in Settings under Alert Settings.
Why did my reminder not arrive?+
Check that notifications are allowed for iChart in iOS Settings. Reminders are scheduled on your device against the release time published by the source; if that time is revised after the reminder is set, the reminder keeps the original time.
Is there a limit?+
You can have alerts on up to 25 events at once. iOS caps how many pending notifications an app may hold, and each event books two.
Lock Screen and widgets
What is the Lock Screen countdown?+
A Live Activity for the next event you flagged. It ends on its own once the release is out. It never updates from a server — every change happens on your device.
The widget looks stale.+
Widgets refresh on a schedule iOS controls. Opening the app updates the data the widget draws from.
Privacy and data
Do I need an account?+
No. There is no sign-up, and the app never asks for a name, email or location.
What leaves my device?+
A request for the public economic calendar, and usage analytics if you have allowed them. Your alerts and preferences stay on the device.
How do I turn analytics off?+
Settings, then Privacy, then Share Usage Analytics. It takes effect immediately.
What happened to the watchlist and charts?
Where did they go?+
Version 5.0 removed the watchlist, the charts and all market prices. iChart is now an economic calendar and nothing else.
What happened to my saved watchlists?+
They were deleted when version 5.0 installed. They cannot be recovered.
I paid for iChart Pro.+
The paid tier no longer exists and the app is now free in full. Subscriptions are managed by Apple — check Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Email me if anything looks wrong.
